I love Irene! It has an air of graceful stalwartness.
I think it sounds sparkly! In a good way.
I was surprised to find out Irene is a grandma name in the English-speaking world, whereas it's trendy in Spain. I prefer the ee-REH-neh pronunciation to eye-REE-nee or eye-REEN.
I don't think much of it honestly. It's dated, but otherwise harmless. I know I prefer it to 'Irena' which makes me think of the word arena.
It's my aunt's name and she is beautiful person (inside and out) so good vibes all round. I could consider as a middle name for a daughter.
hmm i dont really like it, it sound like it would be popular from 1910-1959
That's because it was. The height of this name's popularity came in 1918 and 1919 at #16, but remained relevant for a while after that. Surprisingly, it's still listed on the charts, but certainly no where near as common as it once was. It could very well gain some traction, but doubtful it would be significant enough to have any sort of impact.
I like it, but not as much as Salome and Shulamit.
I hate it.
I love it that sounds pretty and very lovely in my opinion.
Irene is okay, but I prefer Irina/Irena.
If it's eyeREEna, I like it. If it's eyeREEnee, not so much. If it's eyeREEN, not at all.
I like it well enough if pronounced ee-REH-na. I don’t think of it as a timeless name though.
I don't really like it
