It's sweet I guess, but very overused and blank and forgettable. I'd want it to have a long version like Elanor, Eleanor, Elowen, Elanora, Elfrieda...

I like it.

One of the greatest names simple and nice

I quite like it, but if you're using it on a child, I think it would work best as a middle name.

Dislike it.

I want to like it but I can’t. That’s weird because I like Emma, Bella, Stella, and Della.

Fine as a nickname.Insubstantial and overly cutesy as a given name. I figured this would be a trend, but it's hanging on longer than I would have expected.Ellen, Eleanor, Emma, Gabriella, etc. are all far better.
Edited... Admittedly, Ella Fitzgerald is a cool namesake, and her given name was Ella Jane.

I like Ella, but prefer Emma.

As dull and unimaginative as Emma; which is quite an achievement.

Profoundly bland. If it was my partner's #1 name I might come around to it if it was a nickname for something cooler, and we could use the cooler long version sometimes.

Forgettable. Wasted opportunity.

Boring, insubstantial and forgettable. It’s an ending to more interesting names (-ella).
