HelpRe: Gregory, NN Greg

Hi!
The first time that I've heard the name Gregory was as a child in the TV series 'House, M.D.' (2004-2012) where the main character is Gregory House. Later in the middle school a boy in my school was (and is) a Gregory. Obviously then I found more famous Gregory such as Gregory Peck and so on. Anyways my first image about Gregory is still House.
Gregorio instead is the more immediate form of this name that has a Medieval and religious vibe here in Italy because of many Popes who chose this name when they were elected.
Gregory is fussy, troublesome, aloof
Gregorio is religious, heavy, severe
Recently in this board I came across the name Greer. I much prefer it rather than Greg.
I noticed that Gregory is currently quite rare among newborns in the Anglosphere. In Italy instead Gregorio is coming back: in 1999 it was #148, in 2017 it was #80 and in 2021 it was #83.
