I only knew of one
Jeremy in my school growing up. He was bullied (including being called Germy on occasion) and was rude himself. That was my only association for a long time, so I've never liked it. It has grown on me some in recent years but only enough that I feel lukewarm about it. My visual association with
Jeremy right this minute is camouflage pants (I don't know where that's coming from, but it's an outdoorsy conservative vibe, I guess).
Jeremiah I don't have a problem with. I enjoy saying it. I'd prefer it to
Josiah or
Nehemiah. But it gives me a 1970s church camp vibe...
I have noticed myself liking Ger* /
Jerry a little more lately (mainly
Gerald and
Germaine, though).
