Havana
Another one from the tv tonight. A teenage girl called Havana.
I’m not fan but I don’t like most place name names. Though there are a couple of exceptions like Virginia. WDYT of Havana?

My sister was friends with a Havana when they were about four. This was before I knew about the place, the song, or the cigar, and I thought it was a pretty name at the time. I still think it sounds pretty but I wouldn't use it because of those associations. It reminds me of Hosanna. The Havana I knew had a sister named Calypso... so I guess the parents were going for a Caribbean theme?
“Havana ooh la la. My heart is in Havana ooh la la.”
The song
The city
The cigar
Not a fan of it as a first name.

Not just a place - a cigar! Mind you, so is or perhaps was Virginia ... tobacco, anyway. I'm also imagining pregnant ladies in a clinic's waiting room, discussing names. Did someone say 'I'll name my daughter Illustriosa' and someone else reply 'Go ahead: I'll have Anna!'?
OK, it's better than Sheffield and a whole lot better than Giggleswick, but unless there are family connections (improbable), it's best avoided. Though young Ms Havana Lastname will certainly stand out; I hope she wants to.

I don't like it
I really love Savannah, but not Havana. I think I might like it more if it didn't also refer to a cigar.
