It’s pretty but too associated with the Delilah from the Bible. And then there’s the song “Hey There Delilah.”
I’d go with Lyla or Lila

I think this name is gorgeous, sounding like the word “delightful;” I wouldn’t worry much about biblical associations. The name Delilah has still been used for centuries, despite the character; it’s certainly not unheard of.

I like it but I’m scared the biblical association is too strong.

I’m torn, it’s a beautiful name but the biblical association…isn’t great.

I'd shorten it to Lilah because of all the notoriety associated with the name. Too bad because the sound of it is beautiful.

Delilah is famous for selling her boyfriend Samson out to his enemies in exchange for eleven hundred pieces of silver from each of the men who offered to pay her (Judges 16). She isn't as infamous as Judas, but a story of betrayal isn't a great association. Another association is "Delilah" by Tom Jones, which has the line "As she deceived me, I watched and went out of my mind" and goes on to recount the songs narrator murdering Delilah. Another “Delilah” song is by Freddie Mercury about his cat. It seems like a better name for a cat than a person.

My first thought is song Delilah sung by Queen about band member Freddie Mercury’s cat.My second thought is the song Delilah sung by Tom Jones.I would love to meet a little Delilah though and it would fit in with all the little Florence, Ida, Anna and Amelie I know.
