Flora, Genista & Ginevra
Genista and Ginevra have been stuck in my head the last couple days and Flora for a bit longer, and I positively cannot think of anything else. As of yet I can't tell if I really like them or if they're just a passing fancy. WDYTO Flora, Genista and/or Ginevra?

This is so weird, but I just finished reading a book about F. Scott Fitzgerald and his first love, Ginevra King. Apparently she was one in a long line of Ginevras, and was named for a Leonardo Da Vinci painting of a woman named Ginevra. I had never heard of the name before I read the book.

My favourite is Ginevra

Flora- I love it, but it wouldn't be the kind of name I'd use on any child.Genista- I don't know, it just doesn't sound like my style.Ginevra- Lovely! I think it has a great sound and look to it, but, as I said with Flora, it wouldn't be the kind of name I'd use on any child.
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Genista and Ginevra aren't bad, but not huge favorites. The nn Genny/Ginny seems inevitable, and having grown up with and still being surrounded by SO many Jennifers/Jennys, it's not attractive to me at all. I used to love Genevieve, though, and Geneva even more. But gave them up for similar reasons. Flora, though, is a huge favorite. :) Eventually I'll have to decide between it and Nora, another top fave. The only thing that turns me off Flora is, being a nurse, it reminds me somewhat of 'bacterial flora'. :-/

Flora, on one hand I like this name because of the history attached to it, But the fact that it is the name of a popular brand of Margerine puts me off it a bit
Genista - not really my style but pretty enough
Ginevra - lovely name it has something that Guinevere lacks though cant quite get the right word to fit exactly what that is, sharper stronger more attitude

Flora -- Beautiful, refreshing, elegant, nostalgic, timelessGenista -- Pretty, better as a quirky mnGinevra -- Gorgeous, Ginny is a cute nn, danger of being mispronounced though.
Not that you asked, but Flora Ginevra would be a beautiful combination. Flora Genista flows well, but the meaning is too cutesy to be put together.

Flora - I just cannot like this name. I can't. It's too close to Floral, it's too old, I can't see ANYONE named this in today's time, and it has no substance to me.Genista - Again, don't like it. Reminds me of gestation.Ginevra - very cool, very hip, but again, not my style.
