Clarissa vs. Clarinda
I love both of these names, and I can’t decide which I prefer. What are your opinions on both Clarissa and Clarinda? By the way, I pronounce them as “Cluh-rih-suh” and “Cluh-rihn-duh” (not with the “Claire” sound).

On the surface, Clarissa is prettier and Clarinda is more dated-sounding. But I think Clarissa is a little too girly and floofy in a way that makes it sound like someone with a princessy personality. And Clarinda seems more mature, mysterious, and fairy-like. Clarinda feels a little mysterious and magical despite the Linda-like ending.

They are both lovely, but I prefer Clarinda more.

I prefer Clarissa. I'd never use it, because I'd far prefer Clare, but Clarinda sounds like a character in an 18th-century novel.
