Uriel (f)
Came across an article with a little girl named Uriel. I instinctively hated it but then kind of liked it shortly after. It’s worth noting it’s currently on my male PNL list. Wdyt?

I don’t like it at all, especially a girl. It’s sounds too much like urine, urinal, etc.
Not a fan in the slightest, it's very Biblical in a way that would definitely stand out (and it wouldn't always make a good impression for all people, I'm afraid, for that very reason) here in the UK. It's also not said the same way, but there's no escaping how close it is to 'urinal'. And the way it is said is hardly beautiful to me.
It's a hard pass for me on this one, for either gender... also, now I thinking about it, those familiar with -el Biblical boys names would inevitably assume it's a male name and assume a girl Uriel is a boy, those not familiar with that brand of Biblical name but thinking more 'Ariel with a U' might find it too feminine for a boy, if you care about gendered naming you'd not really win either way.

So very no, it would be appropriate if quite unusual on a boy, on a girl its downright horrific.
too close for comfort to urine; if one absolutely had to use it for a daughter, for instance, so she'd inherit a vast sum of money and a tropical island, then wouldn't Urielle be slightly better? I realise it's not French, and has a good meaning, but it's just not respectable so it might as well be visibly female.
Don't like it for f or m
