Re: Chelsea

I thought this was one of the most gorgeous names in the mid 90s...like pristine turquoise water...I guess because it seems bubbly and sounds a bit like seashell (shellsea). I had a childhood friend named Chelsea, and I remember she told me why her parents picked it, and I thought the reason was cool, but now I can't remember it (though I know it wasn't because of the district in London) and can't guess what reason parents would have to pick it that child-me would be impressed by...one of her brothers had an ordinary classic/biblical name and the other had a much rarer placename.
As an adult, knowing it's a faddish placename and commonly associated with Chelsea Clinton...it's lost most of its charm. It seems like it should annoy me the way Camden and Reagan do. But I liked it so much when I was little that I don't really dislike it either.
