They’re both nice names which are very dated, however I have a soft spot for Jessica.

Jessica is very pretty and nice. Samantha is an okay but now it's not my favorite because it was dropped for me then I prefer Agatha or Martha.

Definitely Jessica.

Samantha, but I am incredibly biased.

If I had to choose Jessica.

Samantha!

I don't like either, but Jessica "Jess" is more down-to-earth. Samantha is just so posh and uppity, I can definitely see why one would rather go by "Sam".

I quite like Jessica, though I'd need as many daughters as a gravid herring to give that name to one of them. Too many that I like better. But, I dislike all Sam- names and would avoid them at all costs and for any or no gender.

Heh, these are the full names of my cousins on my mom's side. Yes they were 80's babies. I think I like Jessica better overall at the moment, but I like both. They just have very different associations.
I used to prefer Samantha but once I got over the 80'sness of Jessica and disassociated it from Jennifer, I started liking it more.Samantha: earth, warm colors, red clay, yellow flowers, energetic, wild, sun
Jessica: smooth, elegant, shiny, dark, jewel tones, cool colors, water, moon

Jessica, but I like both names

Jessica. Samantha doesn’t appeal to me for reasons I can’t quite put into words at the moment.

I like them both, but I'd pick Jessica; Samantha does sound a bit like someone's cat.

Samantha but I’m pretty neutral to both.

Jessica. It sparkles and is really beautiful. I also prefer Jess to Sam.
