I also associate it with Alice and Wonderland
And because of that, I find it a very sweet and nostalgic name. I like it a lot.

I like it quite a bit. It's Biblical and old-fashioned but doesn't sound stuffy or stale, and it's not "weird" or too unusual, imo.
I think of Dinah Shore and "Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah..." from whatever song that is. :b Not bad associations, though. :)

It reminds me of the cat from Alice In Wonderland.
I love this name! It's cute and classic.

Oh, I think it's lovely. I immediately think of Alice's cat in Alice in Wonderland when I hear it. Dinah is sweet and jazzy--like Dinah Washington and Dinah Shore, dontcha know. :) Very, very cool.

I agree that the Biblical version isn't great, but I do love the book "The Red Tent" which retells the story of Dinah in a more Romantic way, because the bible doesn't often go into details about the patriarchal daughters, which makes me like the name much more.

It's growing on me, too.
Aw, I haven't thought of this name in a really long time! It sounds cute. I love it. =) I added it to my favorites.

Makes me think that song "I've Been Working on the Railroad." (Dinah, won't you blow? Dinah, won't you blow? Dinah, won't you blow your horn?)
I don't like it. I don't like the sound; the H looks unnecessary, and the song ruins it, too.
What are the convulsions of a city in comparison with the insurrections of the soul?
Man is a depth still greater than the people.

I adoe Dinah. it makes me think of a cute prim proper girl with big eyes and long hair in a ruffled dress....that's just me though. I have also adored this name since I read a book called the "Red Tent" starring the Biblical Dinah. Love the name a lot.
