The meaning reminds me of a medieval princess but the English pronunciation sounds like what a cat makes before it vomits 🥲 I don’t mind the French pronunciation but unless you’re in France it would be a nightmare to correct.

In French, Blanche is lovely. I also like Blanchette and Blanchefleur as GPs.In English, Blanche is frankly hideous. Blanch is even worse, as "to blanch" the literal term in English for whitening something or removing color, or scalding / parboiling food.

It's glamorous and a bit tragic. Very romantic! I also love that it has medieval pedigree.

I'm not a fan at all. Very dated, and unless it's actually pronounced the French way, I don't like the sound either. I actually prefer Bianca, which ordinarily I can't stand.

I really dislike the English pronunciation. It just ruins an otherwise pretty name.

Oh, I do love it. So gentle and old-fashioned, and I adore the clunky, unfashionable sound.

I've said it before but I'll say it again: the sound alone is like someone stomping on a box of cereal.
It's such a faded-tipsy-southern-ex-belle type of name.

Precisely why it's so dreamy!

Of all the names of the same meaning, find this one by far the least appealing; harsh and unpleasant. Blanca or Bianca are better options.

100% agree with this. Anything but Blanche!

Ugh, LOVE Blanche. Incredibly lush and chic, incredibly harsh and unfashionable. Blunt and cutting, like an elegant silver knife lost at the bottom of a sea, once sharp and shining but now barnacled over. So romantic. Seriously adore it.

A perfect description of the beauty of Blanche!
