Don’t like Tony on a boy, and Toni on a girl is even worse.

I had a great aunt Toni (my great grandfather's sister, Antoinette), I thought it was a very cool name. Even though Auntie Toni never did anything really remarkable, because I never actually met her, hearing about what she was up to always made her sound so glamourous and edgy to me. She was this mysterious character in the fringes of my life. I don't know if it was because I also had an Uncle Tony as well (by marriage), so to a child the idea of an Auntie Toni was this thrilling, exotic impossibility. I always imagined her as this intrepid explorer type, flying little planes around the world (she did no such thing, I don't know why I thought about that). I still carry those associations today, so Toni is a great, fun name to me.

I know an Antoinette who is known as Toni. I quite like it, just as I quite like her. I would rather use Anton, no nn, than Antony for a boy.

I don’t like it as a given name but it’s a cute nickname for Antonia or Antonella.

I think that it's alright, but I prefer Tony (this spelling) for a boy. I'd love it as a nickname for Tonya, though.

I think it's cute and lively, in a 1960s kind of way.

I love Antoinette or Antonia with the nickname Toni, however by itself I’m not a fan.
