Oh, I'm a Lillian convert, I love this name. I used to dislike it because it felt like Lily's wet-blanket cousin: so practical, frustratingly sensible. But eventually that's what made me love it. It's lyrical but has a comforting sort of structure and strength.
I don't think it will become terribly dated - it's already sort of dated, but it's passed into the realm of vintage now, so even if it somehow rockets to number one on the charts, it still has some history. It wouldn't be dated the way something like Nova or Paisley will be. Even if I do, it would be kind of sweet, the way lots of Biblical names give me early 2000s nostalgia.
