Yahya
I know most of the people on here aren't muslims or arabs, but I wanted to know your opinion on the name Yahya. I think it's one of the most beautiful male arabic names. It was extremely common among the jews of yemen (but was usually prounounced Yihye which means "will live" in hebrew, much like the arabic meaning). It was also used rarely among the jews in Morocco.

Right I was recalling it meant grandma in some language.
Sounds like the Polish word for eggs (or, colloquially, testicles), so I'm good.
I've never encountered it among South African Muslims, which isn't surprising because most of them either have Afrikaans as their first language or speak it fluently. And the Afrikaans word for Yes is Ja, pronounced Yah; so going through life answering to Yesyes is understandably not happening. If I can shed that association, it does sound good; but it needs some hard thinking.
