Rachel
I am having an unusual time being utterly distracted by this name lately. I think it’s my No. 1 for a daughter at present. I love the character Rachel Lynde (for Avonlea fans). I think the middle name has to start with S for me.

It is a good name; I spell it Rachael because Rachel, where I live, sounds like RAH-Xel, with X standing in for the throat-clearing sound.Rachel Sophia would be my choice; possibly also Rachel Serena. Rachael Susannah would be too biblical for me; perhaps not for you; Rachael Suzanne would do nicely, as would Rachael Suzette.

Not Suzanne. I just wouldn’t use my mom’s first name. It would be Rachel Amelia. I made a “final” decision last night and did some calligraphy.

I love it, but I spell it Rachael.I've heard some people say it's harsh or ugly, but I don't feel that way at all. I think it's beautiful without relying on the same characteristics that make other girl names beautiful, if that makes sense. It's solid. I like that.Rachel Lynde is a nice combo. I approve. :)
