Dexter is 1920’s jazz era cool to me. That’s always been the vibe I get from it.

Isn't it a breed of cattle? It's certainly a surname, and so I wouldn't consider it at all as a given name for a human.

I like Dexter. I enjoy a lot of -ter names, there's something very cute about them to me. And I like Dex as a nickname.
