Marigold
What do you think of Marigold for a first name? Usable or doesn't age well? Preferred nicknames or pairings?
Replies
I think Marigold is as beautiful as the flower. It’s brilliant, sparkly, and bold. I love it and would happily use it, if not as a first name a middle name for sure. I think it’s usable, and not very childish at all. I’d rather a Marigold than another Kinsley. Mari or Goldie is cute.

I totally think it's usable I really like it. I think it will age nicely
Such a great name, especially with the nn Goldie. I love Goldie as a full name too though.
I think it's cute! Go for it!
Sure it was the name of a character in a jilly Cooper novel. Also a name of washing up gloves.
But if you get past that I think it's funky!

I love it! Cute, sweet, and bright. Plus I find it really enjoyable to say. I think it's usable and would age fine, especially amongst the Roses and Lilys. I like Margo best for a nn, but also Maggie and Mara. The vintage charm plus unusual end makes it an easy one for middles imo:
Marigold Alice
Marigold Sylvie/Sylvia
Marigold Orlando
Marigold Faye
Marigold Peggy
Marigold Elsie
Marigold Clara

I think it is very cute. I personally think old names are making a comeback, so even if it was more popular in the early 20th century, I think it old enough to not be weird.
Not to mention, there are definitely worst names out there.

Don't like it at all
I like it. I think it can be usable. I think it ages fine, if anything it seems a little old to me. I like that there can be several nickname options. Mari/Mary, Ari, Goldie or maybe Margo.
Marigold Louise
Marigold Elizabeth
Marigold Elise
Marigold Lucille
Marigold Renee
Marigold Anne
Marigold Lee / Leigh

Margo would be nice!
It's definitely quirky, but I think it can be done. If they are shy they can always go by "Mary" (or Mari) and there's nothing more classic and ageless than that. I like the idea of a Marigold called "Goldie".
I'd combo it with something with a calm, steady personality. Maybe something familiar and warm, like Marigold Jennifer, Marigold Caitlyn, Marigold Emily, Marigold Laura.....
