Kayla and Kaylie
Wdyt? I remember in the late 90s I loved Kayla thinking I was original. Now not so much.

The name Kayla gets more boring the more girls I meet with the name. The sound is pretty enough and cute in a 80s 90s way without being too modern or anything. Kinda like Ciara. So I say it’s a decent name. It needs a rest though. Better than Kaylee though, I’ll give it that.Kaylie is fine I guess but I can’t really say I like it. It just feels a tad infantile, like I can’t see a grown woman with that name lol.

I like Kayla a lot, but really can't stand Kaylee. There's no denying the whole kay group of names is extremely popular. My daughter's middle name is Makayla, and ever since she started school she's had a slew of classmates with the fn Makayla, Kayla, Kaylee, Kate, Katie, Katelyn and Kaelyn, in all kinds of spellings. Not all at the same time and in the same class or school, but it's about like how I went to school in different states with probably a dozen Matthews.

I'd always assumed that Kayla was a spelling variation of (Mi)Chaela. And that Kaylie was a diminutive form. Oh well, I prefer Michele to any of them.

Yes they are ok, were trendy, but still fit in. Kaylyn around that time, feels more dated
