Ashley (masculine)
Ashley (masculine) used to be one of my favorite boy’s names. I believe I had it on my Top 10 some years ago. Since then it’s fallen all the way off my PNL, but I’ve been thinking of it a lot today, and how much I still like it.
The main association I have of it is from Gone With the Wind, which isn’t the greatest association, but still one that makes it feel so suitable for a male for me.
WDYT?

While there are several unisex or originally male but now mostly female names that I like or even prefer on boys... I guess I've known too many girl Ashleys. It just doesn't work for me.
I like it a lot for a boy. It sounds gentle and pleasant.
When I was a kid we had neighbours for a while who had three cute little boys: Dorian, Ashley and Mark. I always felt mildly sorry for Mark - such an ordinary name, compared to his brothers. So it's always seemed like a male name, and since I've never met a female Ashley, it still does. I don't like it enough to ever consider using it IRL, but it's definitely OK.
I love it as a male name.
I'm in Canada and Ashleys are F dated to the 1980s. I like it much better on a boy.
Yes, I like it! I think Ashley is better for boys and it has a good sound too.
It’s definitely a boys name to me - I’m in the UK and most Ashleys I have known here are male. It’s quite dated to the 80s here though, I would be surprised to hear of it on a baby born now.
