Re: Lacey and Elizabeth
in reply to a message by )(
I like them from a distance, but they're not my style. Lacey Elizabeth would be a good combo.
I think Elizabeth is lacy(adjective) and Lacey(name) is a lot less so, but I do think they're similar.
Lacey is light blue and Elizabeth is yellow, both feel light but Elizabeth can also be darker/heavier depending on what it's paired with vs. Lacey is always light and airy and fluffy.
You can "weigh down" Elizabeth with a serious, dark, or heavy middle name and get it to lean dark gold. But if you tried to do that with Lacey you'd just end up with a clashing combo.Lacey Elizabeth / Elizabeth Lacey: light, airy, lacy, pastel, sunlight. Other names in this category are Alice, Lily, Iris, Seraphina, Calliope, Catherine
Elizabeth is versatile, you can weigh it down-- for example Elizabeth Octavia: Octavia is black and mysterious and this combo makes Elizabeth into a dark gold tarnished kind of thing, so they fit together. Something like Cornelia would weigh Elizabeth in a gray/brown and studious direction like a library. Something like Guinevere, Gwendolen, or Rigantona would make Elizabeth more magical/regal and purple. etc...
but Lacey wouldn't work with any of those darker/heavier names, they would just clash. Lacey is permanently up in the clouds and you can't make it lean toward another style. You have to meet it where it is with names that are equally light and airy.
