Arielle! But if I had to choose between these two, then Noelle. I prefer Ariel for a boy.

NoelleNoelle, but I would confine its use to someone born around Christmas or some similar nod. Ironically I myself am a Natalie born in September lol. (I was named for my mother who was born at Christmastime).Ariel is fine, though I prefer Arielle as a feminine spelling.

Noelle, it is indeed sounds Christmas-y.
Ariel is a boy's name, I don't like the Disney princess character too.

If I had to choose? Noelle.

Ariel doesn't appeal to me at all: the male character is quite fun if you enjoy puns along the lines of 'airy-fairy', but now the sound suggests the useful bits of metal that collect and direct audio and video signals. Noelle, where I live, sounds like noWELL. I prefer Noel for girls as well as boys, but not enough to use as a fn.
