Melissa and Alyssa and Clarissa
Wdyt of Melissa, Alyssa and Clarissa? Which is the best and worst? Are they "mom names" now? Wdyt of "issa" names?

They’re all pretty names but have a very 80s/90s vibe. Clarissa is the one that feels more like a classic.
Melissa definitely sounds like a mom name to me now. I like its meaning, but I have negative associations with real life ones that prevent me from liking the name unfortunately.
Alyssa is common among my age group so I've become tired of it. If I had to pick, I'd choose Clarissa. It seems like the most elegant of the bunch.

I find them all rather dated and over-ornate. I much prefer Clare to Clarissa and Alice to Alyssa, though I am fond of alyssum flowers; Melissa is sentimental in the extreme and if you look at the meaning, it is amazing that it is a translation of Deborah! Which is nothing if not tough.
I like Melissa and Alyssa.
Melissa is one of the names I've seen most often throughout my life. So I'm pretty bored with it. It's not a mom-name to me despite, because the youngest Melissa I know is about 21. Melissa is like Alison - no longer "fashionable" yet hasn't really dated too much. imo anyway.
Alyssa was given to my neighbor's baby in 1980 and it was an unusual choice then. But never seemed very unusual, thanks to the prevalence of Alison and Melissa and Alicia. I like it mainly because it reminds me of alyssum flowers.
Clarissa sounds very cold to me. It's like a knife. I can appreciate that it's beautiful but I'm not attracted to it.

Clarissa sounds like she’d bite me.
I'd actually Alyssa. It's very pretty. I like Melissa a lot too and wouldn't have minded having it for my own name.
Clarissa feels prissy and posh to me.
