For several years now this has been my top choice as a girls name. I think it's a beautiful, classic, strong name. I would probably use "Della" or a middle name as a nickname. I don't care for Addie, mostly because I hear it often for the flock of Addisons I know.
I think it’s a lovely name.
I like it but I think I will only use it in the middle name slot.
Because of 'laide', I prefer Adele or Adeline.
I like it! It grew on me in leaps and bounds after I watched "Over the Garden Wall" and they sing the song about going to see Adelaide. It's witchy but also cute.
It's also one of my top picks whenever I play the "what if I had to pick a name from a list of former English monarchs" game with myself. I just think it has personality. Addie is a cute nickname but I also like Della.

Adelaide is beautiful, and has been in my Top 10 before. Addie is also a cute nickname.
Kind of hamstrung on middles, though. I've only found middles beginning with a vowel to flow well. My favorite combos are Adelaide Iris and Adelaide Ivy.

There's nothing about the sound that is pleasant to me. Addle aid. Add a laid. Ick. It sounds like a Gatorade clone only worse. Or a fussy fur-coat-clutching old lady with seventeen cats in a five room house.
That's funny, because it sounds like a youthful name, to me.
