Caelan
When I was looking for a family birth record online yesterday I came across the name Caelan. Caelan is described by the site as being both a masculine and feminine name. What do you think of Caelan? Do you prefer it as a masculine or feminine name and what combinations would you use?

Don't think I can ever take it seriously, the one boy I know with this name prefers to be called Jeff. Don't know or even heard of any girl with it.

I think that this name sounds pretty, personally. I’ve known people (mainly girls) with this name spelling as Kaylin and Kaelyn. It isn’t a very common name where I am. Caelan is certainly a very cool name for anyone.

This site gives, as an alternative spelling, Kaolin, which I find really unfortunate. Caelan itself I've never encountered. I prefer Colin; if it's fem - which it might as well be, since I have no context for it at all - I'd prefer Celia or even Colleen.

I think that Caelan is a wonderful name. Personally, I prefer it only on males, because I can't decide if this name is suitable for females.
Caelan sounds a lot like another name, Kilian, and also like "caelum" (a latin word for "heaven"). To be honest, this name is one of a few "C" names that I like.Combos: Caelan Hector, Caelan Jacob, Caelan Ross, Caelan Martin.

I'm rather fond of it, and I really like the sound. I do think it's like to come off as a mushing together of trendy sounds to the casual eye, though, so I probably wouldn't use it. Definitely prefer it for a boy. hm, combos...Caelan Edric
Caelan Felix
Caelan Hector
Caelan Matthias
Caelan Theodore

Oh no. Oh no. Oh no no no no no.I don't like it very much and I got 5 reasons why I dislike this name.
🔳 I picture it on a snobby kid who is very spoiled and talks like a squeaky squirrel.
🔳 I think the letter C don't blend well with the -ae- sequence.
🔳 It sounds like an awkward Latin word, even though it's similar to the Latin caelum which means heaven.
🔳 I just thought it's terrible and die-hard tryndeigh. It's in the line of Jaxxon, or McKinleigh.
🔳 It also reminds me of an eel, non-electric one. Conclusion: Not my style at all. I'm sorry if it looks like I'm having a mental breakdown lol 😬, much prefer Killian on a boy or Keelin or even Caoilfhíonn on a girl.Anyways, I prefer it as a masculine name. Combos I can made from Caelan is Caelan Lee or Caelan Tom (male) and Caelan Leigh or Caelan Rae (female).
