Please give me your honest thoughts on the name Thomasina
What do you think of the name Thomasina?I'm enchanted by this name at the moment. I find it whimsical, like a Disney princess or fairy. Normally I'm not fond of feminized masculine names, but Thomasina has a sort of magic to it that covers up for that. So many cute nicknames; Tomi, Maisie, Cece.

All things considered, I like it. Solid and clunky and confident. I do prefer Cornish Tamsin.

Tamsin is miles less clunky and ugly.
Also, if you want to call her Maisie, why not just name her Maisie?

The rhythm is heavy and unattractive. And the name ... I prefer Tamsin without actually liking it much. Thomasina would work well for the kind of hyperfurry stray cat that you can't tell the gender of. Or, actually, for any female cat.

I like, although I prefer Thomasine.I think it’d be a really spunky unexpected middle paired with a classic first, to jazz it up. Something like Alice Thomasina or Lucy Thomasina or Charlotte Thomasina or Claire Thomasina or Vera Thomasina.I would use nn Tess.

This is one of those obvious "feminizations" that feels clunky to me. It's similar in structure to Wilhelmina but less elegant and intuitive, imo. Adamina, Jamesina, and Richardine are all even clunkier and more obvious, but Thomasina is in the same ballpark.Tamsin is the superior variant, imo. I quite like Tamsin.

I like it and prefer it to Tamsin, which I would only use as a nickname. I agree with you about Thomasina having an enchanting and whimsical quality.

I’ve never been a fan of Thomasina but love Tamsin! I usually like feminised versions (Charlotte, Josephine etc) but Thomasina isn’t one. I’m not sure why either because I have a soft spot for Jamesina (Jem-a-SEE-na) which is basically the same style!

I like Thomasina, but it seems like a very dramatic attempt to feminize a name. It feels really out there for some reason, but it is better than Jamesina - the Z is too hard for me.

I like it. As a kid I really loved that Disney movie about the cat Thomasina with multiple lives. (Called the 3 lives of Thomasina I think?) I don't necessarily love it as much as I did in childhood but I do quite like it still. I have met a couple of Thomasina's in my life that were named after male relatives named Thomas. The first after her dad, the second her granddad, respectively. I've yet to come in contact with one who was given it independently of honorifics but I'd be very intrigued if I was. Sounds quite interesting to see a baby Thomasina in the wild whose parents "just liked it" Someone on a different platform proposed this to me as a nickname at one point and I was intrigued: Taisie. I also like Toma, Tama, Sina, Mina, Nina, Maisie, Tansy etc. I Hate Tommy on a girl though.

Sorry but I find it unattractive and dowdy. I prefer the form Tamsin.
