Hera is a pretty name.It is very tied to the goddess. While Hera was a better character than Zeus or Apollo (at least she never flayed anyone or attempted rape that I recall), none of the Greek gods were the epitome of moral character. I think the name is too tied to jealousy. Maybe if someone wrote a feminist version of her or a best selling novel using the name, Hera would start to have other associations.

There was a little girl named Hera at the store I work at the other day.
Honestly I can kind of see the appeal but I’m having a bit of a hard time seeing it on a person. Also, Hera was kind of a bad person so I wouldn’t want to name a kid after her. She’s also a symbol of a loveless marriage. Granted, a lot of the Greek goddesses do terrible things but Hera is one of the meaner ones in my opinion. Maybe if it were used more often, it would seem less unusual. I suppose it’s not any weirder than Athena.
