His Dark Materials is one of my first associations with the name, despite having never read it, but if you like the series then it shouldn’t be a hindrance that Lyra is associated with it. I will say that I personally would be hesitant to use a name inspired by a recent character, because there is always the chance that either the character will fall out of grace (e.g. Daenerys), or the creator will (e.g. Rowling).

I like Lyra pronounced as LIE-ra, but I think some people pronounce it as LEE-ra which just reminds me of leering.
