They just want a celebrity name? No matter who it is as long as it’s unisex?
Unless you mean a specific celebrity. I think it’s fine as long as it’s common not to be associated exclusively with the celebrity.

Its common name ranked 904 on nameberry
and the spelling my friend is using is the diminutive which is also commonly used

I don’t see the problem then. A lot of people have thr same given name as celebrities.
