I like Carrie the most. Sandra is okay. I don't like Denise, though.

I like Carrie. Denise and Sandra seem too out of style.

I think people on polls are thinking about names as names for babies or characters, and people have an image of these names as the names of average middle-aged women. So they can't so easily imagine them as names full of potential and glamor, which is how most people seem to like baby names to be.I really like the name Sandra. I'd take that name. I'd use it for a daughter, too - except that I wouldn't want her to have to deal with people saying it's a grandma name.Denise is a nice name, I've met several lovely Denises. But I rarely love names with second-syllable stress. It's not a favorite.
Carrie ... heh, that was my favorite name when I was about six. It's got a comforting vibe about it, for me. Caring... I don't like it so much anymore. It's okay, but feels a bit staid and old-fashioned. I'd rather see Kerry as a full name (sounds the same in my accent), or Cari / Cary as a nickname for Caroline.

I prefer Denis for a boy to Denise for a girl. Sandra is dated and over-used; it must have been pretty in its day. Carrie is a nickname; I named my daughter Caroline but we didn't use Carrie as a nn at all. Not that there's anything wrong with it; it just didn't happen.
