There are some real gems that don't get a lot of attention on these boards. I went to high school with girls named
Kiran, Nusra, and Naureen (though the last was the bearer's middle name), and I'd always found their names interesting.
On my PNL (mainly the "Different Cultures" tab), I have:
IndiraJasminder
Nasrin (Bengali)
PurnimaRupinder&
AzadHasan /
Hassan (Urdu)
Javed (Urdu form is
Javaid)
Nasim (Urdu)
NavinRaviVivek
From your list (that wasn't on mine), I like
Mira (which I usually think of as a Slavic name),
Harinder, and
Rohan as well.
I noticed I have quite a few names on the list I posted that only have Urdu usage on the Indian subcontinent, and there are definitely more Arabic & Persian names on my list than "Indian" names, per se; but I unabashedly love
Purnima, which is why I bolded her. :-)
I also do like
Noor /
Nur, but can never figure out which spelling I prefer:
Noor looks more substantial, but also reminds me of "door" and "floor." :-(
