Re: Mireille

I'm divided about this name. It seems charming and romantic, but it can also seem cloying and twee.
The only Mireille I've ever met was a very pampered Yorkshire Terrier. It suited her.
Mireille is kind of like Mia ... which I like. So I think I might end up liking it. even though the American English pronunciation is probably a butchery of the French. Charlotte and Amelie are no different, and it doesn't really matter. Unless people were to do that thing they did with reveille (say it "revel-E"). I wouldn't be open to that. Miraly sounds cool, but spelled Mireille, I'd think it's kinda bad.
I prefer Mireia. I mean, for a romantic vibe that isn't so twee.
Mireille could be like an updating of Michelle and Renee. Less classic, more gimmicky - but still, same basic idea.
