Magdalena
What are you thoughts on the name Magdalena? Do you prefer Magdalene or another variant? What would you use as a middle name?
I’ve been really liking this name lately. Magdalene I always liked but Magdalena is a different sort of cool. I really like the song “Me and Magdalena” by The Monkees. I’d use Magdalena Esmée or Magdalena Rosine. Maybe.

I think it's gorgeous! Very mature sounding, well spelled, and symmetrical. As a middle, I adore Rosine! As long as it is pronounced (Ross-een). Magdalena Monroe, Magdalena Marlene, Magdalena Oveta, Magdalena Madani, Magdalena Idalia are all my picks.
I really like it, it has a vintage European vibe. It's considered a grandma name here in Spain. This is my favourite form/variant, but I also like Madeline and Madelina. I'd use the nicknames Magda, Maggie and Lena, the latter being my preferred.

Magdalena Iris
Magdalena Juliet
Magdalena Rosalie
Magdalena Vivienne
Speaking of songs, this name reminds me of Sandra's I'll Never Be (Maria Magdalena).

I don't enjoy the MAGdaLEna rhythm at all. Same with HENriETTa etc. And I don't like Magdalene, because its rhythm is also very heavy. If I wanted a biblical name or one that shortened to Maggie without being Margaret, I'd go for Magdalen; same rhythm as Emily, and sounds bright and lively.
It's my mother's name. I like it quite a lot. It's very common here with women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. I do prefer Magdalene.

I like this one a lot but I reckon that the individual would likely go by Mag or Maggy most of the time. One of those names that can't really escape the nickname!
