As a middle name, Ann or Anne, to me, is little more than a placeholder.
I do like it as a first name at long as the letter "e" is included. (Ann looks incomplete to me.) It's a bit dated, perhaps, and I have a hard time envisioning it on a child today. But I do like it.
I do prefer Anna and Hannah, but Anne is fine on its own.
