As the country I call my home, I like this quote from James Baldwin's Notes from a Native Son: "I love America more than any other country in this world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually."
As a name, though? No no no no no. I do not get the idea of naming a child after a continent, be it America, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia - nope nope nope nope nope.
