I dislike it as it is but I do like Sybella, and tolerate Sybelle. Sybil just always makes me think of the tragic character with multiple personalities, as well as beinf very old fashioned in a Dusty way.

I really like Sybil! It's a lovely vintage choice with ancient routes, and a cute sound. Although I usually prefer original spellings, Sybil happens to honour a character I like, so I'd choose Sybil over Sibyl.

I like Sibyl, but not Sybil. It's sibilant and I love the association with the prophets from Delphi.

Sibyl is how I would instinctively spell it like the word, but either is fine as they both have been in use for a long time.Sibyl is cute, although it does remind me of an older woman who wears lots of cardigans.Sibyl Jane
Sibyl Irene
Sibyl Rose
Sibyl Imogen
Sibyl Carina
Sibyl Claudia

I prefer the Latinate forms Sybilla and Sibylla and German/French Sybille and Sibylle. If I had to choose one, it would be Sybilla because it has an more organised look.Out of those two, I prefer Sibyl due to it being the original spelling, however I appreciate that Sybil is the most popular and practical one, but I like the former more.

My oldest favorite name. I’ve loved this name for an eternity (my spelling of choice is Sybil).

It fascinates me! I've got quite a collection of Sibyl variants on my PNL. Don't ask why))
Anyway, people seem to prefer Sybil to Sibyl, according to polls: I looked through 8 and Sybil wins in 7.

Can you read minds? :O I was just thinking about this name and about creating a post :)I love it. I think it's cool and mystical.I prefer Sibyl because it's the same as the word.I do believe that people would spell it Sybil as a first guess, though.
