No. They are just way too associated with the characters for me to take them seriously now. There's other namesakes for Grover and Kermit, but I can't think of any other Elmo, though there must beat least one someplace.
I love the characters of Lovable Furry Old Grover and Hi-Ho, Kermit Thee Frog, but I really can't stan Elmo. Yuc.
Grover would be a good name for a lovable furry cat or dog.
