Masha
WDYT of Masha?

Love it as a nickname. There’s a cute Netflix children’s show called Masha’s Spooky Stories.
I actually knew a Masha who worked at my mom’s. She was in her twenties. Although not big fan of this name, I prefer Maria and then using Masha as a nickname. Plus, it reminds me too much of Masha and the bear, and I am not even sure if I like the sound of it. Anyway it is very Russian and reminds me of bracelets, colorful dresses, laughters, a friendly and cool girl and also chocolate, coffee and potatoes.
You just reminded me of that tv show on Netflix. I think it was called perfect strangers or something. One of the characters is named Masha, played by Nicole Kidman. She’s Russian and she runs the facility that the characters are living in. I guess it’s fine if you’re Russian, idk how I’d feel about it as an English name. It would almost remind me of names like Kayla and Kylie, except Masha would be a weird playoff of Misha or Marsha.
It's cute but I feel like better as a nickname bc Russian people don't rly use it as a full name and while I guess Natasha is well established as a name, I don't think Masha would work as well.
Masha and the Bear. I like the cartoon but I don't quite like the name.
As a nickname it's fine, but as a given name on its own it sounds juvenile and incomplete.
It's nice as a nickname for Maria and other similar names, but it is silly as a full name.
It’s ok as a nickname for Maria.
