Summer & June
Happy Summer to all my folks in the Northern Hemisphere. Hope you’re all having a good one. What do you guys think of the name Summer? How do you guys feel about the name June? What would you pair it with?

I love the name Summer, it just feels so fresh. It ends in -er, and it’s a word, a pretty one at that. Its meaning is obvious unlike Harper and Parker (f) (I love those names too, but Summer really stands out). June is okay, it’s a bit dated but it has some of the same energy.

I always forget how much I like Summer, maybe because it feels a little dated. There's something crisp and confident about it though. June used to be one of my favorites, but it's verging on a bit expected for me lately. I think Jane sounds fresher today. If I was using June, I would pair it with something to edge/ugly it up. Maybe June Itzel or June Quitterie.

While my favorite season name is Autumn, I think Summer is also pretty. Ends in R, so it's a less typical name ending and stands out that way, while the name itself isn't too loud. One of the other posters made the combo Summer Andromeda, which I think is gorgeous!June is probably my favorite month name, but I don't really like any of the month names. In any case, the long-U vowel feels too soft here for some reason - I much prefer Jane, or even Joan. Junie feels like an inevitable nickname, though I guess Junebug is also cute.

Summer is the prettiest of all season names, but that isn't saying much. She feels like she attends a summer camp for Christian equestrians every year. June feels tired, hippy-adjacent, tolerable only through it's proximity to Jane, Jean, or Joan.Summer Andromeda

June is a lovely name. Summer is not my style.

June has a whiney sound that I'm not fond of; same with Judith/Judy and all the Julia names. Season names don't appeal to me in general, nor do month names, and that's not just because it's very chilly winter weather right now where I live.
