Kit on a boy
Replies
Kit sounds pretty cool, honestly. I’m not the biggest fan of Kittredge.
I know a kid who goes by Kit. He has an ethnic name that’s long. It’s alright as a nickname and I can only picture it on a boy.

Ditto PinkPrincess - "Kit on a boy is great, I like it. I actually prefer it as a full name, but it works as a nn for Christopher too. Not a fan of Kittredge at all."
There was a boy called Kit (full name) in my class when I was a kid. I have always thought of it as a guy name, because of him and because of Kit Carson. It has a wild-west vibe for me because of Carson. I've never met a girl Kit, nor heard of one that I can recall, and can hardly picture it on a girl. So when I read your subject line I thought: "Of course it's on a boy."

Kit as a nn for Christopher is very nice, but on its own it doesn’t work for me. Kittredge is not a good name.

I like Kit for a boy,in theory I would use Christopher or Keith,or even Birkitt, for Kit, Kittredge is alright, if i knew more about it maybe it could grow on me? reminds me of kitten trudging through the snow, kind of awkward....yet kids might do the rhyming thing, Kit, pit, , sit, Fit, you get it ...rhymes are just rhymes i guess, Do not worry about it...
Neither work. Kit is too feminine and Kittredge is just ugly.
Kittredge is terrible, but Kit as a nickname for Christopher, Christian, etc. is sweet and old fashioned. I love it. I'd prefer even just Kit on its own to Kittredge.
I'm alright with Christopher "Kit", but Kitteridge is rather dreadful.
Kit looks more masculine than feminine to me. Don’t like Kittredge at all.
Not a fan, honestly, though I can see it being used as a nickname for Christopher. It sounds incomplete. Don't care for Kittredge as a name, either, unless it is possibly being given in honor of a family name. Even then, I'd prefer it as a middle name.
