Re: Top 10 for June
in reply to a message by Perrine
I actually reworked my Top 10 today because I've been unhappy with it. Much more satisfied with these results:
Nicholas Bennett
Wesley Owen Rhys
Finn Gabriel
Donovan Leo
Malcolm Elliott
Nathan Levi
Dominic Edwin
Adam Raphael
Ezra Theodore
Mark Ambrose
&
Endellion Iris
Sabrina Lily
Alexandra Hecate
Miranda Violet
Jane Aurelia
Felicity Charlotte
Julia Celeste
Maxine Elizabeth
Katrina Willow
Esme Andromeda
Nathan, Ezra, Mark, Endellion, Jane, Julia, Maxine, Katrina, and Esme replace Jonathan, Elias, Luke, Violet (once again a middle), Yvonne, Philomena, Juliana, Sylvana, and Callista. Honorable mentions go to Emeric, Francesca, Ruth, Sadie, and Sara, who were on my list in the interim.
This is the first time Nathan has been on my list instead of Jonathan or Nathaniel. Nathan was the name of a beloved cat who passed on many years ago, so I always had a feline image of the name and discounted it based on that. Nathaniel, on the other hand... while I really enjoy the sound, it's a bit "fancy" for everyday and I don't like the nicknames (Nat or Nate). And while Jonathan is a good everyday name, there's still a good chance it'll get shortened to "Jon" or (shudder) "Jonny." So we're left with Nathan - which isn't so fancy that it sounds pretentious to say that all the time and not shorten it to Nate.
I did not participate in the June 2012 thread, so there is no ten-year comparison.
