Re: Opera singer, Leontyne Price

Mary: respectable, but very dowdy. I'd prefer Rosemary, Marigold, or Miriam. However, we do need, as a society, more Mary's who go by Polly.
Violet: very pretty, but not nearly as fanciful as most flower names, much sharper, and more intelligent than Lily or Rose.
Leontyne: hmmm looks a bit ugly, but the Leontine looks like an adjective, and would lend itself to lee-on-TEEN or lay-on-TEEN which we don't want. It's the least attractive of her names, but the most iconic and memorable, so I see why she went by it. It I were her, I'd change the spelling of my surname to Pryce, as Leontyne Pryce looks more memorable. But Leontine Price looks more operatic... Hmm either way I'd go with two Is or two Ys.
