May, all the way! May is a family name, with that spelling. I like it as a full name in its own right, and I don't particularly associate it with either the month or the flowering plant. And May is the end of autumn where I live, for what that's worth. Mae looks faux-mediaeval and needlessly fussy. I associate it with American bearers; don't think I've ever encountered it outside a US context.
