Name of the Day: Emily

It's a nice, solid name. I like it because of Emily Dickenson. I can't stand Emilia.
I know it's totally overused, but I actually love Emily. It's classy and timeless, flows gracefully off the tongue, and fits any personality. One of my close friends is Emilie Grace, which isn't exactly original but I like the cadence of the combo and the alternate spelling of Emily. I wouldn't use Emily or Emilie myself (well, given enough daughters it could be a middle name), but it's still a good name. As for Emilia, it's perfectly nice, but it sounds just like Amelia, and I've never seen the appeal of spelling it like Emily. That said, it makes a lovely middle.
Rosamund Emilia
Genevieve Emilia
Violet Emilia
Adelaide Emilia
Isabel Emilia
Beatrix Emilia
Astrid Emilia
I would pair Emily with something more unique to spice it up a little.
Emily Andromeda
Emily Antigone
Emily Ariadne
Emily Astraea
Emily Calypso
Emily Concordia
Emily Hecate
Emily Hermione
Emily Ismene

I was happy to find out that a 19th-century relative had Emily as her mn: Florence Emily! I didn't have enough daughters to use it, but it's always beautiful to me, regardless of popularity.
'See Emily Play' is good; I love Pink Floyd in general. But, although the name is only in the title, I prefer 'For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her' by Simon and Garfunkel.
