Alice
What do you think of the name Alice?

Hate it. All I can see is LICE.

Beautiful and timeless. No nickname potential apart from Allie, but doesn't need a nickname - why use Allie when you could use Alice? I like the medieval feel of the -ce ending and the Alice in Wonderland association. I've never liked Alison but I love Alix, which is a good option if Alice seems too common or boring. Alicia and Alisha are also nice, especially Alicia pronounced uh-LISS-ee-uh. I would use Alice or Alix.*

Years ago, I found Alice to be dated and boring, but I appreciate it now. Its sweet and frilly, but intelligent and old.

I would happily use Alice IRL; having run out of daughters, I used it for a cat, which also worked well.I also like Alison, but people tend to shorten it to Allie, which I'm not keen on. Alice seems to escape intact, so I'd use Alice as a fn and Alison, if at all, as a mn.

It's beautiful. I love the idea of Alice and Celia as sisters.
