I just finished reading a great trashy book with a character named Carrie who overcomes some really awful circumstances. It made me like the name quite a bit, and I was already sort of partial because it's a "horror" name for me, something that pleases me. I used to only like Carrie as a nickname for something, but I'm starting to appreciate it as a standalone name. It's similar to Sadie, Hattie, and Sally that way - like it's become an official old-fashioned name.
