Heidi or Sophie?
Which name do you like better and why? Heidi or Sophie?

Sophie. It's more popular but less middle aged.
Although I prefer Sophia, Sophie would be my pick. Heidi is extremely dated-at least here in the States. It's hard to imagine it on someone young, Or on all generations, for that matter. Heidi seems rather restricted, not only in the age range, but in other ways as well. Sophie on the other hand, is much more adaptable and friendly.
Heidi because I like the book.
Sophie. Heidi just makes me think of the story.
Heidi
It's so perky and positive!

Definitely Sophie! My top pick for my future daughter right now.
Heidi is OK, but seems strange out of its German context. Sophie is OK, but only as a nn for Sophia, which is overused; plus, I really don't enjoy the soFEEa version. My choice will always be soFIEa.
I like both names. I like the meaning of Sophie better, but it is a bit overutilized.
