I dislike April, it sounds silly and gurgly. Abril is somehow worse - very brash.

I have a unit helper with my brownies called Abril and I like Abril and April but I love Avril.

I have only ever met one girl called April, one woman called Abril and two women called Avril. I like that none of the variations are popular here.
