I like it. I briefly went to school with an annoying kid named Damon but it didn't ruin the name for me. I see it like Damian/Damien but simpler. A very average, non-flashy person could easily pull of Damon but not necessarily Damian.

I dislike it.

It's one of my favorite names.
Has a little baggage from famous bearers, and maybe there's a perception that it was a late 20th c. fad and is dated, like, say, Sean or Travis or even Nicholas.
It doesn't remind me of demon, but I can see how it might for some people.
but I don't mind, I see it as basically classic, in a way similar to Jason.

I have great admiration for Damon Runyon; as a name, though, I much prefer Damian. Two of my friends, in different parts of the world, have partners named Damien, and I also like that, but Damian would be my choice.
